There are points in time when things change dramatically and, seemingly, all at once. As I reflect on this, I notice my resistance, discomfort and other undesirable responses to difficult life altering changes. At the same time, I believe that every challenge provides opportunity. For example, I am more able to appreciate the loving connections I have been privileged to enjoy.

Though I miss family, friends and the yoga sangha very much, I am comforted by the anticipation of being in each others’ presence again in the future.

“May we be peaceful. May our hearts be filled with loving kindness. May we have ease of body and mind.” I resolve to repeat this affirmation many times. At the same time, I know that forgetting and remembering is part of the process. Sun shines. Wind sweeps away heat. Whatever is, just is.
